How purepotions began

When my one year old developed chronic eczema, I struggled to control her raging flare-ups with a variety of tactics. Nevertheless by the time she was 18 months she had to be wrapped from head to foot in bandages every night to protect her sore and bleeding skin.

Conventional approaches did not not work and although steroids improved the skins condition, I knew that their long term use could lead to thinning of the skin and other side effects.

Finally out of desperation I did some research and experimented in my own kitchen. It took many months to fine tune a recipe and lots of help from some special friends in my search for the right blend of herbs and oils. Finally, I formulated a rich beeswax based salve using nourishing oils and traditional herbs and in a very short space of time Lula's skin improved dramatically.

From my kitchen I made one or two pots a week for Lula and for a few close friends. But as interest grew so did demand and now our salve is used by thousands of eczema sufferers all over the country.

Although Skin Salvation can alleviate the symptoms of eczema and other sore skin conditions, it is important to remember that finding the underlying cause is extremely important.

During my research I discovered that most leading brands of baby products contain petrochemicals, preservatives and artificial fragrance. Some companies cleverly market these products to have us believe they are pure. I began to enjoy experimenting with different recipes and as a result I developed a range of baby products which are truly pure, natural and safe.

Our products are special because

They do not contain steroids or any artificial additives. Since we know that 60% of what we put on our skin is absorbed into our bodies we only use 100% pure and natural ingredients. This is particularly important for sore and sensitive skin. It is of even greater significance for tender, new skin and so we have developed a range of pure and natural baby products to care for little ones.

Every one of our ingredients has a specific function. Nothing extra is added to make the salves look pretty or feel creamy and light. We do not use synthetic colours or fragrances or add water to bulk out our products. Everything we put into our products is there for a reason and because of this they provide a deeper nourishment and moisture than most other skin preparations.

We use hemp oil, revered for centuries for its incredible moisturizing effect. Hemp oil is rich in essential fatty acids (EFAs) which the skin of eczema sufferers often lacks.

We use herbs that have been traditionally chosen for their specific qualities to reduce heat, ease itching and calm and heal the skin. We also use beeswax as a base to help seal the nourishment into the skin.

Skin salvation has proved to be an excellent soothing moisturizer for thousands of eczema sufferers who have found it to be an enormous relief from conventional, prescribed treatments. Even in extreme circumstances where steroids may still be necessary, skin salvation can be used alongside other medication to sooth and moisturize affected skin.
